Fr. Jose Kadavil is dedicated to the cause of the blind, deaf and dumb brethren in the society. He had undergone special training in this regard in Canada. He also found friends and benefactors in Canada prepared to help him in this mission. He bought a few acres of land at Enath near Kottarakara; put up the necessary buildings and opened also a residential school for the group. The school is presently upgraded to the Higher Secondary standard. This is the only English medium school for the deaf and dumb in Kerala State. It is a Government aided school. There is besided a house established at Kurisumood, Chethipuzha.
