About
In 1988, when Fr Lucas Vithuvattickal was the provincial, a new Centre's CMI Dharmaniketan Kolkata was established in the town of Kolkata. In 1993 Kuriakose Elias Carmel School was opened with an annexed boarding house in 1999. Later a branch of this school was opened at Diamond harbour by Fr. Louis Kandankary, then superior of the house. Presently CMI Dharmanikethan is recognized by the Archdiocese of Kolkata as a Syro-Malabar parish church.
