About
Immediately after the bifurcation, provincial house functioned at Mannanam Monastery. In 1980 the province bought a two storied building at Vazhuthakad from a private party. As the building was actually being occupied by the Food Corporation of India as its office, the provincial authorities had to fight through the civil court against the FCI to take possession of the house. The case was won with the help of the Malayalee MPs in Delhi and through the intervention of the then Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi. The province took possession of the house in 1981 and occupied it immediately.
