About
It was a long cherished desire of the congregation to have a house in the capital city. Fr. Elias Kodankandath, the then prior of the St. Joseph Monastery, Mannanam came forward to buy a plot of land of about 10 acres with a beautiful building in 1941, near Kaudiar through the good influence of Mr. Kunchama Puthenpurackal and Fr. Andrews Poonoly. Fr. Bernadine was the first superior. In course of time the CMIs who studied in different colleges in Trivandrum stayed here. It was for some time the residence of the regional superior.
